Everyone seems to be suffering from viral infections known as \u2018cold\u2019 and \u2018flu.\u2019<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-219 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/voguepoint.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/12\/allergy-18656_1920.jpg?w=680\" alt=\"allergy-18656_1920\" width=\"223\" height=\"335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thevoguepoint.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/allergy-18656_1920.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.thevoguepoint.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/allergy-18656_1920-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.thevoguepoint.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/allergy-18656_1920-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/www.thevoguepoint.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/allergy-18656_1920-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.thevoguepoint.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/allergy-18656_1920-1024x1536.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 223px) 100vw, 223px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unfortunately, there is no cure for cold or flu, but there are some vaccines. The protection they provide lasts only a year as the virus itself undergoes annual changes. That is why we hear one year of a certain strain of flu, and the next year of a different strain. Most doctors recommend bed rest and plenty of fluids.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, there are some traditional recipes to try, for faster healing, if you have a cold or flu.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<article>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Herbal Remedies<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>1. Ginger Tea<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A satisfying winter beverage: it warms the body, treats the common cold and soothes coughs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To prepare it, add a teaspoon of ginger powder, a teaspoon of fennel seeds, a teaspoon of cinnamon and a pinch of powdered cloves to one cup of hot water. Let the herbs brew for about ten minutes; then strain them out of the tea and drink it. You may drink as much as you wish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CAUTION: Do not drink ginger tea within two hours of taking aspirin as both are blood thinners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-287\" src=\"https:\/\/voguepoint.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/12\/shutterstock_63663664.jpg\" alt=\"shutterstock_63663664\" width=\"390\" height=\"260\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2. Honey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; Mix a teaspoon of honey with a teaspoon of lemon juice. Take this every 12 hours.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; Mix a teaspoon of raw onion juice with one teaspoon of honey. Let it stand for 3 to 4 hours before drinking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; Drink a mixture of ginger juice and honey three or four times a day. It gives relief from a cough and cold.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<article>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>4. Garlic with Turmeric<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Crush and boil two garlic cloves in water with half a teaspoon of turmeric powder. It is an excellent remedy for cold.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<article>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>5. Cold Drink!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-285 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/voguepoint.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/12\/shutterstock_52338763.jpg\" alt=\"shutterstock_52338763\" width=\"217\" height=\"326\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This remedy will clean your system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1\/4 pound seedless raisins<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3 ounces ginger root<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3 cups of honey<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">6 lemons<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4 oranges<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1 gallon of distilled water<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Put the water in a large pan. Add the softened ginger root, honey and seedless raisins. Bring to a boil and simmer for about an hour. Skim the top as needed. Cool, strain and place in a tightly closed container overnight in the refrigerator. The next day, squeeze six lemons and four oranges and add to the mixture. Mix well. Drink 2-3 glasses per day.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<article>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Prevention Is Better Than Cure<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prevention is the best way to avoid colds and flu.\u00a0Make sure you:<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-280 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/voguepoint.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/12\/shutterstock_28544462.jpg\" alt=\"shutterstock_28544462\" width=\"229\" height=\"344\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wash your hands frequently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Avoid close contact with infected people during the contagious period; i.e., the first three days.
